I had the same thing - could have sworn it was coming from the engine. The way to be sure is get up to "squeal speed" and press on the speedometer. If the noise stops when you press the speedo, that's the problem. I elected to fix it myself inasmuch as the dealer would no doubt have screwed something up. There are many texts on this forum detailing how to fix it - not that hard at all. I chose to apply shrink tubing on the posts which support the speedo. End of problem.
